But there are also celebrity overdose survivors who have learned from their struggles and are now working on getting or staying sober. In 2018, the singer was found unconscious after overdosing on opiates. There has been a lot of speculation about which drugs the star overdosed on, with some thinking she overdosed on heroin, fentanyl, or a combination of the two. While the exact substance may not have been reported, Lovato has been vocal about her recovery after getting treatment following her overdose. The star, who had relapsed after 6 years of sobriety, shared how much work goes into not just getting sober, but staying sober as well.
“It’s definitely going to be a struggle that I’ll have to deal with for the rest of my life,” Lovato said on a Good Morning America Interview. 
In 2007, Eminem had a near-fatal overdose on methadone pills. He was surrounded by people who made it easy for the rapper to ignore the severity of his addiction, he was also taking Vicodin, Valium, and even Ambien.
“Even when they told me I almost died, it didn’t click,” he said in an interview.  Since then, Eminem has gotten sober and recorded new music, much to the excitement of his fans.
Though the entire Kardashian family receives press for various reasons, Lamar Odom has stayed relatively quiet following his 2015 overdose. Odom revealed that he suffered two heart attacks and 12 strokes following his overdose, and he knows he is lucky to be alive.  He credits his 18-year-old daughter, Destiny, with encouraging his sobriety. After completing an addiction treatment program, he has been working on maintaining his sobriety.
